Clarisse Francescane Missionarie del Santissimo Sacramento

I am a mission, always; you are a mission, always… People in love never stand still: they are drawn out of themselves; they are attracted and attract others in turn; they give themselves to others and build relationships that are life-giving. As far as God’s love is concerned, no one is useless or insignificant. Each of us is a mission to the world, for each of us is the fruit of God’s love. (Pope Francis, Message for World Mission Day 2019).

The extraordinary missionary month is for us an occasion of rediscovering our Eucharistic-missionary Charism, or rather, the gift given by the Holy Spirit to the Church and to the humankind through the intuition and life of Mother Seraphina (Mother Seraphina, to Cardinal Svampa, 27.09.1894). It can be aptly said of her that she was “baptized and sent” as she herself writes: “since the age of reason I felt the call to active religious life, precisely to a missionary one (Mother Seraphina, to Cardinal Svampa, 27.09.1894). From “her dream” (which was God’s dream) we were born! Our motto, “I Carry the Mysteries”, spurs us on to be missionaries wherever we are placed, in the poorest regions shunned by others and to live like Clare who immersed herself in the Eucharistic Mystery with the missionary ardour of Francis (Cfr. Missionary Document, 5)
